The Paratus Group has a 5 Step Process that is the foundation of our Be Aware Stay SAFE Situational Awareness program. The 5 Steps are Identify - Assess - Predict - Decide - Act. The Predict step is where you think about What YOU Would Do in different situations and potential scenarios.

  • You are at a restaurant, and you see a young girl sitting with a man.  The way she is behaving sets off the “hair on the back of your neck”, and gives you a “gut feeling”, based on the indicators below, that something isn’t right, and you think she might be a victim of Human Trafficking.  What actions should you/would you take?

What would you do in this situation?  Would you even notice - is it part of your crosscheck to identify some of the indicators that someone might be a victim of Human Trafficking?

A Real Life Story

A husband and wife, who had been enrolled in our Be Aware Stay SAFE Program for approximately 8 weeks were out to dinner.  While they were having dinner, they saw a young girl sitting with a man.  They watched the young girl and she exhibited behaviors consistent with someone who might be a victim of human trafficking:

  • She appeared to be very scared

  • She was definitely afraid of the man

  • The way the man treated her was consistent with the Human Trafficking Indicators

They had 2 choices:

  • Act they had in the past and do nothing

  • Take action

They took action.  Because they were enrolled in our program, they not only identified that something was wrong with this situation, but they had thought about - Predicted - what they would do if they saw a situation like this, AND they had thought about what They would do.

When the man and young girl left the restaurant, they followed them outside, copied down and took a picture of the license plate, and then dialed 911 to report what they saw.

It turned out that the vehicle was stolen.  They started a process that might lead to the rescue of that young girl.

What would you have done?  What would you do if you saw the indicators in your kids or grandkids?

Are you PREPARED to keep YOUR kids and the kids in Our Communities Safe?

We will not be able to keep our children safe if we continue down the path we have for the last 30 years, relying on our schools and teachers to be responsible for the safety of our children.  As PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS, we need to be ultimately responsible for the safety of our children.

Do you and your family have the necessary Situational Awareness Tools, Habits, Behaviors, Mindset and a Process to empower them to identify the indicators, the “Red Flags” before something happens to PREVENT it from happening?

Are you ready to invest in your safety and learn and develop the skills necessary to keep your teams, our children, schools and communities safe?
